I've got a 2000 1750 with a Johnson 115 (carb). I max at 40 mph (gps) with 2 guys and gear running the stock aluminum 14x17 at 5400 rpm. Hole shot is great. I borrowed a Raker (stainless) 13.5x22 and got 44 mph at 4900 rpm with same load. I think that's a bit too much pitch but hole shot was not near as bad as I thought it would be. It's tough to get enough boat out of the water with the TM batteries way up front.
