Shep, I don't recall saying that I couldn't get enough speed with my kicker. I would like to have one motor. I think a 4-stroke is a much better choice if it has to do double duty trolling and running. I say this because I tried using my 150 opti as the only motor on my old 618 and it was all I could do to keep the thing running by the time I was done trolling. It would miss and sputter like it was running on one cylinder(and it probably was). The 200 opti has been great so far but for how long? I am not considering the Verado because I don't need a super charged outboard for fishing. Going fast is not a priority to me.
