Hi Troy,

I'd rethink the 8 HP kicker. Not so much because of the HP(the 620 is a BIG boat), but because of the alternator output. If the 8 HP is a Yamaha, the alternator output is 5 amps. The 9.9 HP doubles that to 10 amps. The Merc 9.9 HP is also 10 amps. This extra output will come in handy during long trolling sessions to maintain your cranking battery, which will be powering the livewell, depthfinders, GPS, Radios, lights, and other accesories.

I am not sure how hard the 8 HP will have to work to push the 620 up to 5-6 MPH. Hopefully, you'll get some input from a 620 owner. But perhaps there isn't one out there with a 8 HP kicker.

Hope this helps.

Just out of curiosity, what is your package, and how great is it, pricewise.

Good luck,

Shep
