BenR,

An 8ft. rod will not fit, I tried 5 minutes after I drove my Tacoma off the dealership lot and parked in my driveway. I was bummed but it will fit an 8ft. rod inside the cab on an angle. I'm sure it will fit in the bed on a Tundra but I'd rather stick with the 6 cylinder Tacoma over the Tundra's 8 (gas prices). Putting my 8ft. rods in the cab really hasn't been a problem in the past for me, to tell you the truth I feel a little safer while driving and jumping out momentarily for gas, lunch, etc. I have never once regretted buying my Tacoma, pulls my boat fine, lots of room in the double cab for boxes, extra clothes, other equipment. Go with the Tacoma!
