I don't know for sure but I'm assuming glass boats have cross members that make the boat more rigid. Maybe not. Aluminum boats do for sure. When I bored new holes in my floor I looked for the screws that attach the plywood to those cross members and made sure I was avoiding them.
Otherwise, it should be a pretty straight forward modification.
