You need to be careful if you have a canvas cover and add a plastic cover on top of it, especially in the Spring. You do not want any moisture trapped between these covers or you will get mold(black spots) and if not treated right away -it can lead to mold holes. If you get the black spots on your waterproof canvas cover use a biodegradeable washer like Ivory dishwater liquid soap and give it a good scrubbing. The way I clean my Ranger cover is just with a hose and maybe some fantasic(recommended) and now that my cover is about 6 years old and I leave it outside these last 2 years. I use 3M 303 Aerospace protective in a spray bottle and wipe. It is great stuff and is like a sunscreen for boat covers.
