Absolutely.
Learned that from a guy who used to fish bass tourney's and trailered all over the place.
When you put it in reverse, it won't spin while your driving down the road. That way, if the road dust/dirt/grime gets in/near the seal the spinning of the prop won't grind that stuff into your seal and roach it. Might not be a huge worry under most circumstances but it's one less thing I have to worry about when I get where I'm going.
