Subject: RE: Mounting Locations for Bow Mount Electronics

In most cases, I am fishing off the port side of the boat. I wanted my vexilar in a place that would be easy to read without having to turn around. I purchased a RAM mount for the unit, and mounted the ram ball on the vertical portion of deck where the trolling motor would mount, and placed it as close to the port gunnel as possible. My TM when stowed has the shaft going along the port side as well, so I needed to make sure I had clearance for that too.. Once done, Everything fit fine, and I only have to look down and to my right side (normal direction of the boat) to see the unit. Then, when travelling, all I need to do is loosen the RAM and re-tighten it with the vexilar tight against the gunnel so it does not vibrate or bounce.
