Location: Elk River, Minnesota		The 6hp will do really well on that boat. I have the Alumacraft navigator (965 pounds empty) and my 6hp johnson does really well. I have run it to just help push the boat along while sterring with the TM up front...works really well.

Sounds like 4 stroke is the way to go, but even with 1 cylinder, it shouldn't be too bad. Might shake a little more, but saves having to add the extra tank and mix gas..
