i don't have it in my boat, (maybe next year). but between all my buddies, they have both XM and sirius. XM is more well known, advertises more, and has a few more accessory items available. sirius has much better signal strength, less "dead zones" (important on the water in remote locations), and better customer service. monthly cost is virtually the same. answer is obvious to me- sirius
