just got a Garmin handheld a couple of weeks ago. i've basically been dropping my 11 year old off a couple miles away from home with the GPS and the walkie-talkie. told him "it's supposed to do this and supposed to do that" ... well, the kid has figured the whole thing out and has taught me, so now i know how to use it. haven't bought the lake maps yet, but that's the plan.

i like the ability to use it in the car, with the maps in the boat and use it as a good learning tool for the boys.
