I was out fishing tonight and was on my way in to the landing and trimmed the motor up a bit as the lake had layed down and didn't need the bow down so far. Trim worked fine. Backed the rig down to load up and as I was loading I noticed the trim did not work at all. When I looked at it with a light both switches sounded like they were tripping some kind of reley that is in a two part black box in the engine compartment. I am assuming the removeable part of the black box is replaceable as it looks to be some type of capaciter, reley, solonoid ect. Can this part cause this problem or am I looking at replacing the ram/motor?? When I try the switches there is no noise or movemnt of the trim pack. I have not had any sort of issues with the ram/motor in the past, and would the ram and motor just quit without any warning?? Anyone have any suggestions or suspisions?? This is on a 1995 Mariner 50HP Tiller. Would a repair shop be able to tell me if the removable black box part is bad with just taking that to the shop, and them ohming it out??
