Unless you troll a lot, want to fish nothing but big water, or need a big livewell go bassboat. A bassboat is a better fishing platform, has more storage, gets better gas milage and can fish more people casting. There are also many more options to buy one used at a great price. When I fish, I don't have anything on the deck except the rods I intend to use and the net. No tripping over tackleboxes, chairs or other crap that litters the deck. It's nice to get to the spot before others in tournament situations as well. I also fish a lot of shallow water and there's no way a 620 or equivilant would be able to get into where I go a lot of the time.

There hasn't been anything water conditions I've encountered that I can't be out in yet. One big note though, bassboats are not all created equal!!!! Boats like Skeeters and Nitro's are not as adept to the big water as boats like Champions, Procrafts and the new Triton 21 XD. Look at the V in the boat and it'll tell you a lot about the water it can take.

Just don't buy a merc (your loving it aren't you Mike).
