Curious to see what experiences others have had with these units. I'm having BIG TIME trouble with mine in a '72 65hp Johnson.
The motor is locked in forward, which obviously prevents shifting, but also won't allow for me to start the motor. Problems arose when the previous owner put 80-90W gear lube in instead of the OMC stuff. I know it's a complicated unit and would love to toss it, but then I either pay for school or a "new" motor. Also love to get it fixed because it's going to keep me off the water for opener, and I don't know how much longer I can wait.:(

If anyone has ANY input of ANY kind, I'd love to hear it.
