Only problem with dish soap is that it removes the wax you worked so hard to put on. Dish soap is a lot stronger than boat wash, or car wash.

One of the best ways to keep your rig looking great is to always wipe it down as soon as you get it out of the water. I carry a couple soft terry cloth towels with me, and almost always wipe it down. My boat always looks great, and when I do a thourough cleaning, it takes less time.
