Subject: Scotty Rod Holders

Scotty makes different styles of rod holders. I prefer the Striker 240 - the one with twin stainless arms that come out the front with the rod cradle. This unit is superior to a Down Easter Salty in my opinion for two reasons - it adjusts to a myriad of positions in a fraction of the time it takes to adjust the Down Easter, and it cradles the fore end of the rod. This relieves a ton of pressure off of the reel seat area of the rod. I have been using them now for about 8 seasons. Never a problem in ANY weather.
