I have seen problems with the stainless skeg protectors. Instead of taking a chunk out of your skeg, which is easily fixed, you can actually rip off the whole skeg. If skeg is broke off too close to housing you are looking at a new gearcase. Also can void warranty on gearcase if new motor.
