I think it would depend on a few things. A Tiller in real rough water can be awefull wet sometimes and possibly tiring . But that can be offset by stuff like more open deck/floor space. I have been in console 16' boats that did not seem quite as roomy as my 16' Tuffy Rampage tiller despite the other 16' boats having a wider beam. Which model Cherokee?
