Local dealer has a new in the crate non-current year 2002 or 2003 can't remember which. 150hp V-max HPDI. I am considering repowering my Ranger 690 and keeping it for a while... Currently has a 96 Mariner/merc 175 EFI with rebuilt factory power head 18 mos ago.

Why I am I considering a repower job?

1. Have yet to find another layout other than Lund 1900 Pro-v LE dual consol that I like... I won't spend 30k+ on a boat, just too hard for me to justify and I don't like payments.

2. My 690 is paid for and I have the cash to make the motor upgrade. Even selling my 690 and buying a new-layout Tuffy for mid 20's or a used Pro-V will cost me another 10K...Twice what I will have to spend on the motor upgrade.

3. Improved fuel economy and new motor with 3 year warranty, figure I can run the boat another 4-5 years and still get decent resale on it.

I have never owned a Yami but have heard they are a very reliable motor...

Looking for feedback from those who have owned one..pro's and con's...

Appreciate the help.
