Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Joe- There are several options including using a industrial type pressure sensor and a gauge (+$300-$800) depending on the pressure and complexity.
Simplest solution is a pressure switch mounted directly on the engine, i.e., LED is illuminated until pressure reaches xx pressure in PSI. There are several ways it could work.
1. Anytime the engine ignition is on and the engine is either not running or the pressure drops below say 4 PSI the switch is closed and the LED is "On" - meaning warning low water pressure.
2. Another way is more failsafe- i.e., the LED is on only when the pressure is above 4 PSI.
3. Even better yet you could have two indicators a green & a red.
Either way its ~ $70.00. You just need to find out the needed pressure setting in PSI. Either way a switch w/ 1/4 NPTM fitting and including LED's with the switch factory set at 4 PSI would be ~ $70
The LED's could be mounted in your dash or on a small panel.
