The trim relay assembly for these are also a common failure item.

This would be my thought as well. The only oddity I would say is that when electrical parts go out, it is usually done off the bat and nothing works, nor is intermittent. I suppose one could check for connection, etc....a wire that might be chaffed or grounding out on something it shouldn't?
