Safety is job 1. Be sure it's not underpowered to meet a price point. Find a boat thats safe for the size of the water you fish. Next try and match that to the style of fishing you like to do. Will you be casting, trolling, rigging? Then don't over-spend. If it's your first boat you will find things you don't like. You will move onto a second boat, everybody does. Don't get upside down where you can't get out from under it.
