In the Summer of 2001, Jim Murphy (Murph) told me he believed the most reliable method of boat control was a good anchor. That was before Spot Lock and Talons, neither of which I can afford. But I keep an anchor. I bought a 2004 Crestliner 1750 FishHawk March 2024 with about 225 hours on a Suzuki 115. Guy rarely used it, always in a warm garage. Dream boat and mint. Got lots of storage and anchor is in front hold. I have a hangup about trolling motor and my Garmin electronics and these fish. Does that spook them I always wonder. On the North Bar, Pipe Island, Battle Point, or the Hayfields on Wabedo I'll position myself for the wind and shut everything off and blow into and across great spots and I have anchored at a good follow or great looking spot.
