I store my boat in an unheated "shed", and used to always bring my batteries into the basement for the winter, and checked them once a month. Current boat has battery storage that is awkward for an old guy like me, and so I just bring in the starting battery. Charge up the trolling batteries and leave them in the boat, now. No issues for several years.
