Location: Downers Grove, IL | If they're "behind the boat" you're not going to see much. Down imaging is just what the name implies. An image captured within the cone reading from the transducer straight below the boat. The same as the name implies with side imaging...images captured straight perpendicular to your boat/SI transducer. And while the boat is moving. So if you're pulling a sucker, say anywhere beyond 8-10 feet behind the boat, you won't see it on DI or SI. If your sucker is vertical however, you should be able to see it swimming in and out of the DI transponder cone of imagery. You can play with sensitivity and contrast settings to get the best imagery if the sucker is vertical below the boat. Perhaps what you're looking for is live imaging, or forward (rear) facing sonar? You can see the sucker and anything else following with live imaging. |
