I am 73 and when I am out all day it is invaluable. I dont fish from it necessarily but can lean and take some pressure off my feet when necessary. I still figure 8 from my gunnel so it doesnt detract from my techniques. Highly recommend ... you can always store it on days when you dont expect to be out for a long time.
