Sure would have agreed with IAjustin 4-5 years ago but with age and some physical issues butt seats are necessary.However one needs not give up pretty good '8' success using one,just need to sit/lean closer to the edge.One can do that by adding pedestal holes closer to the edge or utilize a different seat type.

With that seat and 10 ft rods a high percentage are still in trouble if they come in.
