IMO, if you on your butt seat on the bow your too far from the edge of the boat , it’s there to hold the pedestal pal with all my release tools in my boat, in fact my seat won’t even come up from the lowest position it hasn’t been used as a seat in 12 years ( how long I’ve owned this particular boat)
