Getting a.boat plug to seal in this hole has been a huge chore. Most of the time you cannot get it to seal and when I do I leave it because I don't know when I'm going to make it seal again. I thought about installing an oval shaped aftermarket boat plug assy but the chamfer is out and not in so that's out. It may stick below the hull as it is. As tight as I can screw a standard 1" plug before it reaches the point it won't turn anymore, it will rarely seal.
