Location: Minneapolis, MN | So I know that Tigers are infertile, but do they still attempt to spawn in the spring? |

| Agree - They go through the motions
Actually I think a small number can be fertile 1-2% or something like that

| Normally muskie spawning activity starts with water temperatures reaching 48F or 9C and continues through 60F or 15C. Time wise the spawn normally takes place between the 4thweek of May to the second week of June. I am writer at biology essay writing service. Recently I have written a article about tiger muskies.

Location: oswego, il | Is there a link to this information? Just curious, i was always under the impression they were sterile and did not go through the motions. In addition, i have never seen a picture of one beat up from spawning. |

Location: Green Bay, WI | I believe that they do indeed go through the motions, at least to some degree. Here's a thread from 2008 that is virtually identical to this one, with some interesting information you guys might be interested in:

I recall researching this question a bit back then, and did indeed find information that suggests that some tiger muskellunge are indeed able to reproduce. Here's a link to esocid chaper in Becker's Fishes of Wisconsin, in case anyone is interested:

| yes they definitely do... fish a lake with tigers and have seen it firsthand. I think they may start a little earlier in spring than pure strain. |

| on home lake we have a deep creek next to ideal wetlands. Very rarely a tiger will be seen during the spawning runs. I'm under the impression they are sterile and mostly are unaffected by the spawn. The rest are in there depending on season pike musky walleye by the hundreds. |
