Location: Olathe< Kansas | Greatings All,
I am New to Muskie fishing and MuskieFIRST.com
Here is Kansas , I Mostly bass / walleye and crappie fish.
I will be going Muckie fishing for the 1st time this June at Lake Vamillion.
And then in Sept. to Canada.
Need remendations / ideas on Equipment.
Thinking of a Daiwa Luna 300 reel ??
What line / # ??
Rod "Maybe" GLoomis or St.Croix (can get a deal on these)?? What Length and action of rod??
Lures --I am lost on this?

| My suggestion would be to run a SEARCH on your questions. You will find MORE THAN ENOUGH info cruising a couple year's worth of reel/rod/line/lure selections than one thread could possibly provide you. |

Check out this contest we ran last year, it's basically a "how to" outfit for the newly minted muskie fisherman. You might not want to spend $1000 on gear to start, but this gives you a good idea of how others would start the madness fresh.

That list is of lures and equipment for the contest is great.
I started doing a lot of the reading..Man there is so much info out there. ;>)
Most likely start with one rod and reel combo for muskie.
If you were going to get one "all-aroud" rod.. The quistion I have is not the brand -- But what - LGTH - Power - Lure wt. - etc --??
