I have been going to Lake of the Woods with my Dad every other since 2002. We fish the Stevens Bay area of the lake. We have always had good luck fishing for Musky's We usually end up with 4 or 5 each on a 7 day trip. This along with the numerous pike, smallmouth ans waleye make for some good fishing.

This will be the first year we are hitting the musky fishing harder. Up until now we would fish for smallmouth and catch the musky in the same area and on the same baits.

This year we have both bought some specific baits for musky. I thought bass tackle was expensive man, the normal musky bait starts at $10.00 and goes up from there. I've been buying a few at a time so it doesn't hit the pocketbook too bad. I've also found that some saltwater baits will work and I have found them cheaper sometimes.
