Got out on Shabb for the first time yesterday. We had the Tuffy, so it was trolling motor only . It made us fish a few new spots. First cast Jeremy had a low 30's fish swipe and miss his topraider! Around the next point Jeremy,raised a mid 40's fish on a Rattletrap. I had a fish hit a tiger tube in the rip rap by the dam. Missed him. Lost a new bull dawg on a stump somehow. Jeremy missed a fish on a clown jointed depth raider, and I missed another one on a bull dawg. We had our oppurtuities, we just dropped the ball. We both got this years first sunburn out of the way too!!!!

Hit Webster this weekend with The Dude, and Slamr. Saturday was a long day trolling. Had 2 rips but didn't get hooked up. I caught a 34 or so on a 8 inch Shaker in Grudgings bay right before dusk. Got off the water and got some chow, watched the news and saw a nice storm coming in, so The Dude and I took a shot at a little night fishing before the storm rolled in. No luck though. Sunday was a little better weather, Matt got a 2 footer on a Super Shad rap trollin. Saw a few other caught. Chippin paint and burnin fuel .....

Well Slamr took Jeremy and myself out in the Jacuzi Saturday 02.04.06. We hit Webster Indiana. Started casting the infamous erraticly ripped DDD. Not 15 minutes in, I get a little guy, about a 33. We countined to fish around some shad in open water. we Then trolled the open water with, perchbaits, jakes,DRs & hooker jr.s. Ran Jeremy's new Lunge Locker which proceeded to split in several places on it's maiden voyage??? Got what appeared to be a double on the boards, and in the confusion Jeremy got all hooked up in a bait on the floor, So Slamr grabbed the outside line which had a fish on it. By the time we got to the other line it was empty, we'll never really know if it was a fish or not . All in all it was a great day!!! Thanks again to Golden Guide service ....... 3 fish in 3 months ain't so bad, when the 3 months are Dec. Jan. and Feb. and you live in Northern Illinois ......

Well got out Saturday 01.21.06 with Slamr, and the Dude. About 36 degrees in North Webster. Didn't get a wink of sleep either! We started casting first thing. Slamr showed me a neat trick to get a DDD to do a complete 180 in the water! Got about a 36 right at the boat on a real erratricly ripped DDD. Fished til about 1, then went in for lunch. Warmed up a bit. When we got back out, it was a little clearer, so we decided to troll. Ran Grandmas off the boards, at about 8- 10 feet deep, and a 10 inch Slammer, and a perchbait tight to the boat and about 20-25 feet deep. Got 2 on the Grandmas, and 1 on the perchbait. 4 fish total, 2 32's, a 36, and a 42. What a day! Then come to find out Jeremy nails a 35 @ the river in Elgin Sunday to Double up Team RumbleKnott for the weekend!!! What a start!!!

Well got out for the first time this year on Jan 7th. Jeremy and I hit the Fox River in N. IL. Mostly to try out some new prototypes.( Fat Nana's , and Rumble Shads) Was happy with 3 out of the 4 of them. Was about 30 degrees when we launched, warmed up a litlle, but not much. Fished for a couple hours then we called it a day and went to grab some food, and beers. Just happy to be in the boat in January! This weekend is the show @ Harper. Should be some cool new stuff to check out! Hopefully I won't sppend too much $ at the show, so I can spend some @ the swap afterwards!

Got out on Webster with Golden on Saturday Dec. 3rd. It was COLD, mid 20's, Everything was freezind up. Rod Guides, reels, the entire reel seat froze up on a c3 so bad the spool wouldn't turn. Didn't stop us from putting 2 in the boat, Drew got a 45 incher about 10:30, I got a 40 about 2:00 .... Both on Shakers ....... Probably the last outing for the year, what a way to wrap it up!!!!!

Fished last Sunday with Jeremy on the Fox Chain. We hit Catherine and Channel. Specifically the strip from Bob's to the boathouse at the corner of Channel, and Catherine. Suckers, and bulldawgs. Not even a scared sucker. Hit the piers in front of the Thirsty Turtle before lunch. Then pounded the strip to Bob's again on the way out. Probably Jeremy's last outing for the year. I sure wish he would have nailed that pig on Crescent this summer. Would have made his year! My last outing seems to be first week of December, on Webster. Last Lake, New Lake, wouldn't have it any other way!

Fished the Kly Outing with Jeremy on the 23rd of October. What a hangover! When will I learn not to stay up til 1 am, then try and get up at 4 am to go fishing! We had the winning fish hit a sucker twice! No hooks in her though! Jeremy won a frabill power catch net , which made it worth the trip! Wider than his boat! Even when the handle is folded in. Got out on Okauchee again last weekend with Slamr. We didn't see ANYTHING! Talked to a couple of guys at the launch, 1 guy saw 1 little fish caught all day. Atleast we weren't the only ones skunked. I am pretty sure I will be fishing the Mad chain this weekend with Darrell. Low 30's and snow! I can't wait! Next weekend is Thanksgiving, so it's off to Iowa for the weekend. Boy do I need the break. Fished like my life depended on it this year! Have the credit card bills to prove it also! I heard rumors of a Dec. 4th outing to Webster? Never fished there? Might have to look into that further. Would like to get up to the Fox chain once more since I paid for the sticker also. Time is definately Runnin' OUT!!!

Fished Shabbona with Gorgo Saturday. We casted all over that lake. Saw Ron Fulk catch about a 40 incer right next to us in the no motor zone. Trolled a little while in the afternoon. Finished the day out casting. Got out on the river eith Jeremy Sunday. Draggin a sucker, casting shalow stuff. Didn't see a fish either day!

Got out Saturday with Andrew. We hit Okauchee. He caught a dink, on a suick, on the first spot! Looked to be a good day. Draggin suckers. Used the Presque Isle rig, which worked great! I had a follow from a 32 or so on a Perka! Sunday made the trip back up there with Jeremy. Forgot the lake map Andrew marked for me. Casted the spots I fished Saturday, didn't see any fish. About 10:30 we started trolling with the planer boards. It's gonna take some practice to get good with the boards. Atleat the new clips held the superline. Lots of floating weeds got stuck in the boards. Looked like rain coming so we headed in for a quick lunch. After lunch at Jollymon's, with the weather still coming in, we headed out to the islands. Fished inbetween them , then hit the Volcano on the way out. Jeremy raised another mid 30 inch fish on the magic bulldawg! We went back to her 3 or 4 times. Couldn't get her up again. Then we ran out of time.

Ordered a Slam'er Jointed Creepein Tom , and a Husky Hawg Wobbler from Thorne's yesterday. After seeing Gerard throwing these last weekend, I had to invest! Also ordered the adjuistable tension clips for the off shore boards Slamr leant me. Hopefully I will get them before I get out with Jeremy on Sunday. I would like to run the boards this weekend. Also looking to get into some sucker fishing if the weather allows. I will have to look into reserving some suckers at Shabb.

Got out on the Mad chain with Gerard Hellenbrand this weekend. Caught a nice fish Fri. on a white spinnerbait, off a windblown rock pile. Had a big blow up on a weagle early Sat. morning, but didn't get any hooks in her. Also had a big hit on a magnum bulldawg and didn't get any hooks in her either. Switching up to 7/0 hooks this morning on the magnum when I get home.

Fished the Madison chain this weekend for the first time. Darrel (cpr fish) was nice enough to let me be net man. We threw the whole box at em. Darrel had 3 follow and 1 hit on a bobbie bait. Going back out there this weekend. Can't wait!

Well,I spent the afternoon at Jeremy's wharehouse in EGV making a double outboard stand. My mom's old man gave me a 1958 Forestone 16 HP outboard. I got it on the stand. Got the right hose hooked up to my gas tank. Tried to check the plugs. Top one didn't want to come out very easy. Like it was cross threaded. Checked the bottom one it looked fine so
I put it back in and just tightened the top one back up .Then put the wires back on. It runs at 25 to 1 oil mix, but I didn't have enough oil, so I just left it at 50 to 1. Pulled a couple times kinda heard it just barely fire. Adjusted the gas intake, and the idle adjustment. Pulled and pulled again. To no avail. So finally I got a little frustrated, and hit the gas to about 1/2 way, pulled the cord and away she went. For about 2 seconds. Then I shut her down. Now I have to get a shear pin for the prop, and a codder pin for the propnut, and some oil, then it's off to see it it will plane my 14 footer.

Fished Pleasant Creek Labor Day weekend with Jim. Stopped at Shabb on my way home tues. Didn't see any all weekend. Going out with Jeremy Sunday. Should be fun.

Fished Shabb Sunday 8/21 with Jeremy .... Tried ou tour 1st set of gliders..... His worked nice, mine didn't.... Gonna move the pull eye see if that helps .... Got 3 hits trolling, 1 of them in the boat (mid 30 inch fish) .... We are learning the lake alot bettter ... Getting fish more frequently now ..... Using alot of things I learned on this site, and catching fish ...... Wealth of info .......

Fished Shabb this last weekend with Gordo. Got 2 in the boat for the first time ever! Fishing cranks on the edge of the baitfish pods, near the end of the timber on the east side, in the middle of the lake. Matchfishing this weekend on Sunday with Jeremy, hope the same pattern is going on. If not, I hope I can recognize a pattern that works and stick to it. Really want to get a couple in the boat on a matchfishing day! Could use the points.

Fished the Rhinelander area this weekend. We saw 15 fish had hokks in 4 or 5 but only got 1 in the boat. We fished George ,Cresent and Spider this weekend. Had a blast! SWorrall set us up with maps for each lake and put us on fish! We saw more fish this weekend than we have all year! Great weekend hope to get up there again soon!

Went fishing at Shabb again this weekend. Fished Saturday for 13 hours. A little bad weather in the middle of the day. Then got out for a few more hours before dark. Saw 5 fish. 4 mid 30's , and 1 mid 40's fish. In new spots too. Casted most of the day. Then we went back to the campsite had a nice fire. Got up early Sunday went right back out to the spot where we saw the 40's fish and raised her again, still wouldn't eat it though. Fished til about 2 pm then went home. Nice to look at a map for new spots , go out and fish them , and see fish. Probably dumb luck, but I like to think it's cuz I know a little bit about these fish. Man, I wish that was true.

Went fishing/camping at Shabb this weekend ... Got a nice 36 incher out of the NMZ , on a Bomboer Long A. Then lost it trolling Saturday. Had Jim and Rich throwing baits too. Didn't see any other fish.

Camped in Preston Minnesota this weekend. Got a few nice largemouth and a huge sunny out of the Golf Course pond. Fished the Root river and got a couple smallies , 1 nice one , and a few trout. Great weekend but I can't wait to sleep in my bed. Got 13" and 9" grandmas and another Weagle when I got home today. Had to move some stuff out of the Lakewood to get them in. Hopefully I will be camping/fishing at Evergreen or Shabbona this weekend.

Got out this weekend all 3 days ..... Still haven't seen a fish .... I am begining to think that catching a 44'' on my first day Muskie fishing ,and a 34'' on the second day has left me with some dues to pay ..... Haven't seen a fish all spring?? ... That's gotta change ......

Gettin pretty serious about makin our own baits. Starting to dream about quittin my job, movin north, fishin in the warmer months,and making baits all winter . Nice to dream. Looks to be a good weekend can't wait to get out and get some baits wet. Try out the new Hr from Johnny.

Just got home from work ... putting the final touches on some campin' Chili ... mmm good .... So excited to fish the southern wisconsin opener ... come to think of it this is the first time I have fished Wisconsin for muskies ... ever !!!!!!! Should be great !!! Campin at Naga-Waukee campground .. Since it's on Pewaukee might as well fish it Sat ... Try to get up early hit Oaukchee Sunday before we leave ...... Don't know if I'll be able to get to sleep .... might have to have a couple shots to put me under for a few hours ... hoping to get out tonight and scout a little if I'm not too wasted before we fish tomorrow ............ maybe cast a Mann's baby minus for bass ...... heard there are some nice bass in Pewaukee too .....

Note to self , Don't get totally wasted the night before a tourney ... tends to screw up your partner's plans ..... and both of your chances of placing ......

Well , Fishing the FRV tourney this Saturday .. .Should be fun , wet and cold , Whoo hoo ....... I think I will actually try to downsize this weekend .... 1 oz Rattle Traps ... Monster Shads ....and small bucktails ...... got a couple 6 in Jakes and a new baby shallow raider to get wet also ..... I think a mid size fish will get you in the $ in this tournament ..... I also think I am due ......

Fished at Shabb this weekend for about 3 hours ... Real Windy ... Set up camp at about noon Sat, never launched again ... Had a few too many beers Sat. night ... and it was real windy Sunday too.... Packed up camp called it quits for the weekend ... Looking to get out on the chain a few days this week if the Weather is good ... Fishing the FRV tourney this weekend ... I think after all this fishing and not even seeing a fish It's my time ....

Fished the Fox Chain real hard the past couple of days ... Haven't even seen a fish ... I keep hearin' reports of fish being caught? But not by me? What's a guy gotta do to catch a fish on this lake? Frustrated ..... I think I need to throw smaller baits ... It's still early .... but I am addicted to the weagle .... especially on the new weagle rod ... Whoo Hoo fish catchin' machine ... If only I could find the fish ........

Well this weekend wasn't my best fishing weekend. Besides falling in the Fox river. Out of Jeremy's Jon boat , losing my glasses and my cell phone. It cost me 350$ to learn a valuable lesson. 2 feet on the dock or the boat at all times. Not 1 in the boat 1 on the dock. This doesn't work too well. Got my weagle rod today too! Excited!! It's my first custom. Probably my last. I have enough tackle to fill up most boats. Can't see spending more $ on stuff til' I lose some. Can't forget to grab a Frabill lure retriever either! Oh yeah I almost forgot. Dumped Jeremy's, wife's ,ugly stick in the river also! Gotta replace that too!!!! Gonna try to get out today on the Fox chain (Tues) before work. Hopefully noon til about 4:30. Really want to break out the weagle rod!

Fished Shabbona Sat. the 26th of March. Casted NMZ when we got there about 11. Trolled some.. Casted to suspended baitfish with gliders and countdown raiders on the south end. Then went back to the NMZ. Had a follow on a perch bulldawg. (Rugular) Of course I failed to figure 8 that cast . I didn't even see the boil in the water , Jeremy did! I gotta start paying closer attention to what I am doing when I am casting!

Fished Shelbyville this weekend. COLD is all i can say. Camped at Wolf creek. Tested out Dave's Nitro. 170DX with a 75 horse. Casted by the launch , trolled by the dam, no luck. Right as we were leaving Sun. the sun came out to say HI and warm things up. Just my luck! Goin somewhere next weekend maybe Shab or Evergreen?

Got my leader components today. Can't wait to start puttin a few together. Hard to believe how much the seaguar flourocarbon leader material is. A buck a foot? Got some weagle leaders too! Can't wait to get out on the water and play with my weagle! Man I never realized how big a #7 hook is til I ordered 25 from Thornes. These things are HUGE! Got my first DDD today too! Sunburst! Itchin to get out there! Where is the soft WATER!

Wow another day pimpin' the jon boat. Got most of the floors and deck installed and carpeted today. We've got 2 pieces of ply that still need to be carpeted. The brakelights need to be replaced. We still need to replace as much of the old astro turf as we can. Get the motor on her , and a battery in her and she should be golden! The RumbleNaught slowly comes to life!

Just ordered a bunch of leader stuff and hooks from Steve Jonesi at Thornes. What a great guy & what a great store! Got more baits coming than I know what to do with! Can't wait til open water. Actually can't wait til the motor gets out of the shop because Evergreen is open and docks are in already! Just a few weeks til the Fox opens then it's fishing every morning! Almost got Jeremy's jon boat "pimped" floor deck getting the motor set up thiss weekend or next? Not sure yet! Gonna be great to have both of us on the water chasin the ski's!!!!!
