I am finally starting to find my way around up here in the mountains and I can honestly say that Ive never seen so much natural beauty in one place. Every time I turn a corner my jaw just about hits the ground. We finally got around to exploring some of the trails this afternoon...I didn't think I would get into the hiking thing too much, but after being out there for a while I can't wait to get back. We were up around 9000ft hiking around a pristine lake with a waterfall cascading down from nearly 12000ft. I turned a corner on the drive back and nearly hit a golden eagle that was flying around the bend coming towards us at eye level. I still can't get over how big those things are...especially when they are less than 10ft away and staring straight at you. Nature is truly amazing when you take the time to slow down and look around you.

I suppose I should add a bit of fishing stuff, seeing as this is a fishing website and all. Got a chance to hit the water with a few guys while I was back in the midwest for a few days. I realized that its not the muskies that I miss so much, but rather the time that I get to spend with friends and family while chasing these toothy critters around. We got a few smaller fish while in WI and missed a few nice fish while spending a few hours on the water in MN...I was definitely asleep at the reel a few times or else we would have had one heck of an evening. A few more weeks and I will finally be on LOTW with my bro and another one of my best friends. I can't wait to be in the middle of nowhere and get a chance to sit back and enjoy my favorite place in the world.

Ill get back just in time for school and football season to start up. I'll definitely be taking Kevin's advice to hit up the Packer bar in Boulder. I found another bar in Downtown Denver that is a Wisco bar. Ill be spending a few days holed up in that joint when the Brewers are in town in a few weeks and then for the Packers MNF game in October. This summer is really clipping along but its been one of the best that I can remember in a long time. Hopefully it slows down a little bit because I have a feeling that the winters in CO are going to be mighty long.

Sorno, I will definitely be taking you up on your offer to get me out. It probably won't be till late September if that works for you. I will drop you a line once I figure out how what my school schedule is going to be like.

Kevin, I would love to meet up with Shawn but I'm not sure I have it in me for the long drive down to the Sand Dunes. It was a looong weekend with my buddies in town so I am going to be in recovery mode for a few days. If you talk to him and those shows are in the Denver area, tell him to give me a call. 414-238-1105

Eric, BBQ Shawn is out there this weekend with his girls. He probably got to Golden early this morning where he's staying with my buddy John, who lives in Golden. Monday they're going camping for four days, the first two at the sand dunes, wherever that is.

Friday night they are going to see a couple bands, but I'm not sure where. They are seeing Lucinda Williams, and a two others.

You know Shawn. Find where Lucinda Williams is playing in CO on the 3rd, and you could party with some WI guys. My friend John, who lives out there, is a really great guy.

Don't forget, you can always head a few hours west and meet up w/ some semi-friendly tigers.
