Life (job) Changing Decisions....
4/21/2005 4:24:43 PM
For about 3 months now I have been contemplating leaving the Chi Town area and moving to the Twin cities. All for a stupid fish! TC has jobs that are in my field but I know I probably wouldn't make as much. Been going through the pro/cons back and forth now for a while. Hardest part is leaving my current job. I figure now is the best time to do it in my life. No wife (or girlfriend...hell yeah), kids that I know of or other attachments. Feel if I don't do this now, I will regret it and I never regret things. I just couldn't imagine being that close to so many awesome water..... Just tough as I have worked pretty hard to get where I am right now... Hmm....

Hello,

LOCATION< LOCATION< LOCATION>

In the pursuit of what we are told makes us the happiest, I believe we most strive for financial security. This is where your conflict within yourself begins... I also believe that if you follow your heart you will truly be the happiest.

I have been in situations where I "should" be happy, at least from someone on the outside looking in. Yet, my biggest happiness comes from doing the things I love, not from "having". I know, we are all restricted on what we do by the amount of money we have. But money doesn't make us happy

If you really want to fish and it makes you happy, then focus on the location, the work schedule, and your life will begin to make sense and fall into place. People MOVE all the time for various reasons....If someone told you they were moving so they could be in a warmer or colder climate, even though they weren't making as much money., you wouldn't scoff at them....so think of it as the same....I may want to live closer to the beach some day because it makes me happy and brings me calm....that may not be the choice for you but it is said with the same passion for that environment.... and if you have the ability to fish more, relax more without all of the "travel" time ....you may live longer... so it's a trade off...you are the only one who can decide the value of the trade.

Man, Esox...

I don't know what to say to that, because I'm actually...

Thinking of hanging up my hat in Chicagoland, and moving up to muskieland.

Yeah, over a $^&% fish. Not that I don't like it here, but the fishing sucks. I'm lookin around for a house, and once I do that I'm married to my job for the next 30 years.

Then it's old fart time, and will I even be able to cast anymore?

Wouldn't it make sense to just move somewhere where I can fish after work, or before work?

Can't build your life around fishing, or CAN YOU?

No wife, no kids, now's the time, right?

Man, if you need someone to tell you you're stupid I'm the wrong guy

I'll tell you what my mom told me before she died," Do the things you want to while you can." It's good to have choices, Later

Gut instinct dude...................

stop listening to your head for 1 minute

take a deep breath

and FEEL what your gut deep inside tells you to do

Going with that feeling-

takes away any "regrets" in the future

Even if things don't work out perfectly

you'll know you did what your "emotional life element" directed you to do

Good Luck !
