Posts: 70 Location: Winfield,IN | Hers what it's looking like the water temps are in the high 50's right now the next two days are going to be mid 60's-70's then Wednesday when I'm goin fishing the high will be 52 bright and sunny. Any help would be great. I will be on lake tippicanoe or the barbee chain in indiana. I hate fishing these conditions but it's the only day I have to go this week so I really don't have a choice. Oh and the lakes are shad based forage no ciscos for us. Thanks guys.

Posts: 215 Location: Wisconsin | It has been my observation that cold fronts in fall actually turn the fish on. My advice would be to locate any green weeds and fish just off the edges of them. The bait fish will be relating to the green weeds. If no weeds are present, find any kind of "edge" you can and work that. That being said, slow down your presentation. When you think you are going slow enough, slow down even more! Good luck! hope you have some action Edited by Tone 10/27/2014 6:12 AM

Posts: 70 Location: Winfield,IN | All of the weeds in this lake seem to still be green. Saw three fish last Wednesday under the same conditions I'm just having a tough time making my buddy position the boat off of the structure. He seems to want to sit right ontop of the break line/drop off instead of back a little ways. This is one frustrating thing. The three fish that we saw two of them were checking out the suckers and I had one follow that came in hot on a phantom soft tail but would not commit. I am going to try throwing rubber this time off of the drops and weed edges.

Posts: 558 | Don't forget to try the thick jungle weeds if present on your lake. Bucktails right over the tops or through. Had good luck ths year with that in that water temp range. You'll get reaction strike's right out of the thickets. Good luck, stick some fish.

Posts: 70 Location: Winfield,IN | cave run legend - 10/27/2014 5:53 PM You run the trolling motor this time. That's too much like work! I will have to try the buck tails in the jungle approach. I just don't have much confidence in them for some reason maybe because I don't fish them much. I know the fish can be anywhere this time of year hope we have some luck on our side this week.

Posts: 12 | Not sure about your lake, but on the reservoirs right now where I am at I have been doing well in shallow timber with bucktails. Shad based forage lake as well. Cold fronts should turn them on.
