Posts: 49 | Just got back from being up at the angle for a week. I've been going there for the past 5 years and this year was absolutely terrible. Fished our butts off with minimal success. Fished every type of structure. There was about a half hour window right at dark. That's it. Never been so frustrated...

Posts: 397 | Just got back from bay store camp. Boated 4 for three of us and some nice pike. Lost so e more and saw fish. Wasn't a real set pattern. Fish seemed to be on the rocks over all though. Got fish on blades topwater and a medusa. Moved a bunch on jerkbaits. Lots of baitfish so look for reefs islands with baitfish around them. Moved a lot of fish on spinnerbaits slow rolled. M

Posts: 397 | Also if it looks fishy try it even if there seems to be no reason for a fish to be there Make sure to try. Ew spots each day the fish seemed to move everyday

Posts: 59 Location: Minneapolis, MN | Our trip was very similiar. 6 in the boat for 3.5 days, all under 40 inches. Fish weren't really on the structure, except in very small windows. Seemed like dawn, dusk, and maybe 30-60 minutes somewhere in between. Mostly rock points with wind, smaller fish in cabbage spots. Think it's the high water that's got them messed up?

Posts: 368 Location: On the River | Just got back Saturday from the Angle tough week caught 3 fish the first day, 34, 36,44 and then didn't get another one until Friday 46 No real pattern other than caught and saw fishing in new areas my go to spots were dead other than an occasional pike. High water and plenty of forage has made it tough. We had 12 in my boat the third week in July same deal no real pattern

Posts: 214 | We also just got home Sunday from a week at Baystore it was very very hard fishing wife and I ended up with 9 or 10 fish seen very few a day anywhere from 1 to 6. The biggest we got was a 49 1/2" trolling. Was seeing a lot of bait fish on the breakline and started trolling during lunch and got the big one with in 10 min. Trolled a total of about 4 hrs the last 2 days and ended up with 1 big ski and about 7 big pike and 3 or 4 other hits but can't say what it was due to getting of before getting to the boat. If you are not seeing fish shallow don't be afraid to troll the breaklines it could save your trip!!! Darren

Posts: 999 | Sounds like it's been spotty at best all season. Heck the past 3 years haven't been what LOTW used to be. Not sure whats going on up there but man you sure don't hear the 25+ fish weeks anymore. Heading up late October this year, hoping they will bust loose by then!

Posts: 906 Location: Warroad, Mn | It's actually been pretty good this past week. Water levels are falling. Algae in some areas, but not real bad. Seeing and occasionally catching some very nice fish. Doug Johnson

Posts: 1969 | Fishing is good. Musky-Skunk and I have 26 in the net 5 days into our trip....several out of the slop today, rocks are hot one day..next day they are not? fish are coming on a little of everything, but for the most part its "classic" stuff...you must convert fish boatside Cranks have been best followed by tails.. only 3 more days left Edited by IAJustin 8/26/2014 9:54 PM

Posts: 1767 Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | Just got back from a quick trip...didn't do as well as Justin's ridiculously good numbers but the fishing was certainly better then some of the bleak reports we had gotten. Besides one nasty cold front day we were moving about 12-15 fish a day, most days you had hooks in the mouths of multiple fish, both eating out and hitting at boatside. Looking back I would say the most productive spots were classic LOTW island/reef complexes for numbers. Spots with access to large open water were good for big fish. We did well on big blades in natural colors, but then again that's what we threw 90% of the time...

Posts: 1169 Location: New Hope MN | Thanks for the reports guys. Leaving tomorrow! I've fished out of the Morson area a few times and all the fish we caught were shallow, maybe 2 to 6'. What depth were you seeing most of your fish?

Posts: 1969 | Well what's normal? I'd consider it 24" high and dropping when I was there.. Edited by IAJustin 9/3/2014 12:02 PM

Posts: 43 Location: Roseau, MN | It has dropped considerably since its peak......over 18". There was considerable rain on Sunday and last night but the outflows are still a lot higher than the inflow so it should continue to drop. http://www.lwcb.ca/waterflowdata.html

i was at bay store last week and we had a good week. my toll for the week was a 47, 47, 44, 42,40 and 2 38s. my brother was in a different boat and got a 50.5, 45,and a 42. we had some guys trolling for walleye in the 10 to 15 ft deptsh and picked up a few muskies. all i can say for a pattern was we caught fish from every type of structure you can fish up there. didnt see alot but the fish we contacted were biters. caught on suicks, bucktails, gliders, cranks, and some topwater

Posts: 1969 | get the deep diving crankbaits out and bang rocks in 6-9 feet of water....the bloom is not nearly as bad deeper in the water column....it does suck to not be able to see fish boatside.
