I'm looking to have several lures custom painted. Stan Durst did all my customs in the past, but he is no longer painting. PM me if you do custom paint job and send a few samples of your work and prices.

I'd contact Ben Modica (MuskyFix). He does most of my work and is a great guy to do business with. He makes some great baits too.

For me hands down its Ben Modica. I've caught several fish on lures he's painted for me and on his Motivator. The man does what he says he's going to do. The quality of the work is second to none.

I have two I'm looking to get done, is there a round about normal price? One is a super shad and one is an old 9" rapala.

My paint jobs average around 10 bucks given the baits are in decent shape. A few dollars more for restoration if needed. That includes, prep, paint of your choice , new eyes of your choice, and two coats of epoxy clear. You can see examples of my work in this forum section.

what about painting brand new baits differently. I bought a bunch of baits that are discontinued that i am going to have repainted this winter. Does it take more time to remove the existing exterior for repaint?

New baits are pretty straight forward. Figure 10 bucks.

A brand new lure should only require a light scuff sanding then paint over...thats all I do anyway.

That's what I do also Paul. Just looking for good adhesion. No need to strip it all the way. Holographic tape is a big pain in the butt though.

If you have tape on a lure, foil or a rougher surface; simply scuff sand and clean and add a coat of epoxy, re-scuff for a smoother surface and repaint
