The Lexa 400 has a 120mm long handle, the Toro handle is 105mm long so the Lexa handle with make bringing DCG alot easier. I hope the size and weight don't stop guys from trying it out, it is only 6oz more over the Toro but after 10-12 hours on the water casting that can be a hand and wrist killer.

Why no power handle for the lexa 400 6.3:1? :(

Why would U want one ???? Have U seen the the Double Paddle Handle ??? it is over 120mm LONG !!!!! and the Rubber Paddles are some of the biggest I have ever seen, plus the single P/H adds more weight to the reel.

They should offer a "shorty" speed handle option -- opposite of a power handle. 120mm is a very long handle. It's possible people using this reel to quickly take up slack on rubber are going to wish the handle was shorter.

That's what I thought too, but then I set it next to the power handle and they're the same length. Only difference is the paddle and counter weight on the power handle model. I'm really torn between which one I want since I have the Tranx PG already. I want this as a backup/throwback/new guy rod.

I get more satisfaction netting fish for friends than actually catching them

Cabela's just got a couple in today so I took another picture next to the 300 and a Tranx. The 400 is in the middle and is quite a bit large than the 300, but still smaller and lighter than the Tranx.

I have replaced both of my Revo Nacl reels with the lexa 300 and love them. I had problems with the Abus right out of the box, sent one back and then 2 months later the other. Overpriced reel is MO

Thanks for that picture - that's a good comparison. I remember thinking the Tranx felt harder to palm than 400 size round reels. The 400 Lexa looks significantly smaller than the Tranx, and I would imagine similar in palming size to a 400 series round reel. Does that sound about right?

The lexa is shorter and longer than a 400b or luna 300.

I think I know what you mean, but how can it be both shorter and longer?

No shorter(height) and longer(length) is right. Narrower would be the width.
I looked at the Lexa 400s at the Chicago show and they are pretty big, to big for me although not as big as a Tranx. Last night I made the decision to go with another NACL 60 over the 300. With discounts at Cabelas you can get a NACL for close to $200.

Its just a discount the sales rep can give you. Ive asked at the register and they wont do it. Its gotta be the guy working the fishing area. I just looked at my receipt and it says reason tag/sign error. They will try and get you to sign up for a CC but I just told him straight out I wasnt going to get one, but I would say a good word for him in the online survey they do.
Anyways its worked for me twice, just by asking. Heck tell them you saw it on e- bay for 229.00 shipped and they will most certainly do it, especially if you show them the link on your phone. They are a big box store but def help the industry so dont forget to round up!
BTW I dont work for them or know the sales rep that helped me. At this Cabelas you have to have them open a case for the good reels, so I jus asked while talking with the guy.

I appreciate the great reviews and conversation on this thread. I have been going back and forth on this topic for about a month now and this thread helped quite a bit. I pulled the trigger yesterday on a Lexa 400 (5:1). My buddy got a 300 last year and loved it so I figured with that plus the advice here I couldn't go wrong on the purchase of a 400. Thanks to Cal for the comparison photos and thanks to PIKEMASTER for the input on PMs.  Can't wait to try it out......

After much debate myself I am going to give the new Lexa 400 in the 5.1 a try. With 27" per turn and the large power handle I think it will fit the bill nicely for everything that I want it to do. I have a Nacl 60 in 6.4 and its a great reel for everything but larger blades and big baits. It wont be a reel I use all the time but when I do I think it will do the job nicely. As soon as I can try it out I will post a comparison. I also appreciate all the feedback that was given on this topic.

Maybe I'll get a Cabellas card now that they are close.
