The only brakes are the cast controll knob, maybe the spool bearings need some oil ??? or take the cast control knob off and add a drop of oil inside cap.

Posts: 300 Location: Minocqua, WI | Richard, I've got the Quantum Cabo PTS that was mailed in June. Not sure if PM from a few weeks ago was received, but wondering what your findings were with it. I'll give you a call this week if that works better. Thanks.

Posts: 2009 | Pikemaster- I have an NaCl 60 in 5:4, I keep the drag locked down, then back off 2 clicks. On a couple occasions I noticed that the drag had loosened several clicks. This was while in my hand, and I doubt I was bumping it. Is this common? I am sending in multiple reels after a Nov. trip and was thinking of having you upgrade the drag washers anyway.

Parts are very hard to find for this reel. Your reel is done, I had to re-engineer some of the used parts to make your reel work. Be in mail on Thurs.

Drags will loosened up, make sure the drag star wheel is not worn out, ck the threads on the star wheel, or replace it.

Posts: 1 | Pikemaster, I'm curious as to your opinion on custom tuning a Daiwa Lexa 300 with Power Handle. I bought one the other day but my die hard Shimano mindset keeps pushing doubt into my head. I typically fish inshore saltwater here in Central Florida but bought the reel and paired it with a Star split handle rod that seems very balanced. Your thoughts on the reel? Thanks.

The 300 Lexa I don't like to tune them because they R a price point reel with Daiwa and they don't come out very smooth. Good reel for the $$$

Posts: 251 | I am a lefty and was wondering what your thoughts would be the best bet on a double 10 reel. I would like something that I could burn them in with and not kill myself. I have a couple TE's that I am happy with but would like something a little faster that will hold up. Thank you!

Posts: 123 | Hey Pikemaster, I have a NACL 60 6:4:1 and the drag isn't working properly. I replaced all the washers and what not on under the handle, and still have the same problem. I can tighten it all the way down, and still pull line out by hand. Wondering what you think is wrong and if possible how much you think it would cost to fix? It must be something inside the reel that's not working right. I bought it off eBay and it was advertised as new, and clearly it wasn't new or in working order lol. Thanks!

Posts: 123 | Thanks for the reply's. The problem was infact the lack of mono/elec tape. For some reason I thought I could get away without it, but it turns out I couldn't!
