Posts: 389 Location: Corning, Iowa | To all you lure makers, and painters. Great job to all of you. Now,how, or where do you get, or make the white eyes? I've tried hot glue, and that isn't consistant. Thanks to all. Doug

Posts: 179 Location: Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan | Here is a jointed perch crankbait that I have been working on and finally got it right. 8", 2.5 oz made of pine. Has great action and trolls in excess of 6 mph. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g225/rjbass/IMG_1739.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g225/rjbass/IMG_1741.jpg Rod

Posts: 179 Location: Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan | Nate, Your baits are awesome, love the perch also...I am just wondering about the hooking power without a tailhook, have you seen any difference? Rod

Ron, painting medium doesn't matter too much to me, both can be prepared to be painted nearly identically. Rod most of the fish I have caught and from what I have heard caught on my baits are usually headshots or mid body strikes........so the tail hook is probably not terribly necessary.

Posts: 156 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Some Bucktails I just finished yesterday. Wanted some custom colors with the large number ten blades. What you guy's think. Put a mepps next to them for size comparison. Posts: 2024 | I like the Fall Out Shad and that Bloody Walleye!!!! The blending is really well done!!! I hope to tie a few marabou tails this winter in my free time. Two things that caught my eye (aside from the colors): 1) wraps at the line tie look loose (how are you making the loops?), 2) blades are positioned pretty far ahead of the marabou. Not sure how the last thing would affect the action of the marabou, but I know that with flashabou the further away the blades are the less the material dances.

Posts: 156 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | First off thanks for responding. My favorites are fallout shad and bloody walleye too. Wanted something different than the rest. that is what makes basement baits cool. The wraps are done the old fashioned way pliers and braun. they are not loose but the map background throws it off. The blades are farther away because I wanted a chase affect, which you don't see on the market, and the hair will still dance! I can make the blades closer to the skirts, too. Going to make a cisco pattern similar to the fallout shad but with blue translucent blade/nickle blade and blue on white marabou. I may make a few with both flashabou and marabou, too.
