A number of years ago, Bob Turgeon wrote a tech brief for Muskie Hunter mag, that showed a set up like that. He used to do a tech column in just about every issue.

A number of years ago, Bob Turgeon wrote a tech brief for Muskie Hunter mag, that showed a set up like that. He used to do a tech column in just about every issue. That could very well be where I got it from. It certainly wasn't something I invented.. There's all sorts of little tweaks and mods out there if one cares to dig around the interweb.

I tried my hand at it after reading his tech tip. Yours looks a lot neater than mine did.

Posts: 1207 Location: E. Tenn | It involved a some trial, error, wasted wire, and a dose or two of colorful language to get there.. I never did find the Turgeon article, but did manage to find this, with a link or two to other posts, and a mention of the Turgeon piece. https://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=77...

I wasted wire and managed a couple of puncture wounds in the process. I remember feeling like I had ten thumbs ;>).

Posts: 600 Location: Michigan | Musky Innovations has screw-in magnets as well which can be used to hang a hook farther back on a bait. https://musky-innovations.myshopify.com/products/pro-magnets-10mm-4-...

Posts: 1136 Location: NorthCentral WI | Am I the only one who doesn't see this mod necessary? I have caught a lot of fish on shallow invaders over the years and never modified a single one. I've never had a problem with hook ups or losing fish, so I just don't see the point.

MartinTD - 4/18/2024 1:26 PM Am I the only one who doesn't see this mod necessary? I have caught a lot of fish on shallow invaders over the years and never modified a single one. I've never had a problem with hook ups or losing fish, so I just don't see the point. My reason for modifying was not hook ups, but the constant tangling of the rear with the front hook.
