It's add on time - currently have 3 birds in boat 2 -10s (use mapping on one and down imaging / 1 - 9 (side / down).

I want to add a live scope type product. Can you share your recommendations, experience of Garmin vs Humminbird as well as SI or DI? I assume I want SI for scouting for fish pockets. Normally don't fish over 35 feet freshwater.

thanks.

Don

I currently run Hummingbird simply due to price point. All I needed to do was buy the transducer and upgrade my software vs buying and wiring in a whole new systems. That being said a friend of mine is running Garmin and I believe the Garmin live image system is better than the bird system.

I have 'Bird icefishing and boat Mega Live and just ordered (today) new for my 2024 ride. I used it a lot last year for all my fishing and was very pleased with the clarity and overall performance. I set it up networked with the front and console sonars which you should be able to do with any networkable units.

Best way to go is Garmin live imaging, hummingbird side imaging. Mapping I would give Garmin the edge.Look for sales at cabelas/ bass pro.

or run your hummiming bird side imaging out the back of your boat and mount a pole for humminbird 360 on your bow and you are covered all around your boat. Garmin is the best livescope. Humminbird is the best side imaging. Lowrance is best 2d as when set up right you can mark fish at 30 mph.

The networking isn't that hard. After setting up the Hub I realized the Hub was always drawing power so I installed a master switch. Once I got up to 4 Hummingbird's I installed a pair of AGM's wired parallel for the outboard and electronics.

Thanks. I have a Humminbird hub and that makes sense.

I did go with the Garmin Echomap Ultra 2 126sv / w 56UHD & livescope with lvs34. I will go get a lithium battery to be just for this equipment.

I run both Humminbird and Garmin I have two 10” helixes on my dash and a helix 7 and a 12” Garmin Lvs34 on the bow. The Humminbirds are for sonar maps and side imagery. The Garmin is livescope only.
