I know of a 55 caught from a lake less than 175 acres and read an article of one over 50 from one less than 100. Both of those lakes in northern Wisconsin. I've also netted a 50 from a lake less than 80 acres.

Its surprising but wow 55 on a lake less with than a quarter mile of surface area.

There was a 52 taken out of a 40 acre lake near me 3 years ago, but that lake has a creek that runs out of it for about a mile into a much larger chain of lakes, so that may have had an impact.

We got a small spring fed lake can paddle across it and back in a kayak. Got some very nice size in there.

That lake is on a river system so it is possible it didn't live it's whole life there but none of the lakes in the system where it was caught are over 300 acres.

Only one and it only has panfish forage. One is under 20ft and another is just over.

Hmm, so the long life is because of lack of pressure or just the forage is so good?

Old age. The 55 was a very old fish the one I read about in MH was on a small lake these two don't have public access but the lake with the 55 has a resort. The 50 I netted that lake gets a ton of pressure and from guides but it has some depth but only panfish forage.
