Was just at Tamarack lodge for a week. Awesome lodge, Todd and the rest of the crew there are great. Was by myself but got 7 total including my 1st 50. All the fish caught were off rocks. Bucktails, double tail bulldog, and shallow invader were used for the catches. All different colors. 2 zero days and a couple double days. Last day screwed up my prop/lower engine. Hope that helps.

Rocks everywhere and they are not all marked on the maps. When I went to Redwing the resort owner sat down with everyone the first day added the unmarked hazards to my map. (in the main travel areas)

Hi Chuckski. I fish sabaskong bay area once every few years and am not aware of the unmarked hazards are in the main travel areas. Are these in main navigational channel routes or closer to islands than one would be traveling while going on plane? If they could be a problem while navigating, any way you could show me or let me know where they are? Feel free to pm me, thanks!

Well it's been 30 years since I was up so maybe they been marked on newer maps. A lot of it was caution from the resort owner not wanting his rental boat banged up. 20+ years ago up in Minaki guy's talking of channel markers not being replaced down on Lake Of The Woods. again that was a long time ago.

I think the new lakemaster map is pretty good and has a lot of the main channel areas marked. My issue was closer to an island. I thought I was in 8-10 feet of water and am usually checking actual sonar to make sure is is close to the map depth. Must have not been checking and got shallower than I should have. If you keep to using the main engine in 10+ feet and the trolling motor closer you should generally be ok. That is what I usually do as well as using sonar to make sure I’m close to what map says. But no map has all the rocks so there is always a chance.

Lakemaster has pretty much anything that you would hit out in the open. Of course there are rocks in bays and closer to shore that you could hit but you go slow in and out of spots. Navionics and Lakemaster in tandem is even better. There is no need for a paper map marked up anymore. That's outdated.
