Something to be aware of is the very high suicide rate among veterans. Roughly 18 veterans commit suicide every day. Variety of reasons, but it is a huge problem. There are resources but someone needs to help get these folks connected with the resources.

When I got out of the Army 50 years ago, I don't remember anything like those numbers. There was a serious problem with alcohol and drugs among vets, but not this level of suicides.

If you know a vet who may be struggling, take that first step.

PTSD effects a lot of Vets. It is hard to un see the horrors are Vets seen and they see them over and over in there sleep. And a lot of Vets have had head injuries thanks to road side bombs. Living with a head injury can be brutal, I've had one! 18 suicides a day that's bad and I know it was 22 a day for years. We've stayed ahead of the bad guy's with technology.
Hats off to our Vets and our Defense industry workers for keeping us safe.

Both my mom and dad served in WWII, and met during the occupation of Japan. Dad's father was the son of a man who came over from Germany. Grandpa ended up enlisting in WWI as a tank mechanic in the war against the Kaiser. m
