Ranger still on a roll. You keep hoping all that negative stuff for others. Someday you may need the help from a stranger Ranger, I sure hope you don’t want someone to **** on his driveway![/QUOTE

Ranger was pointing out how inappropriate the previous poster suggestion of pooping in the lake was.

Yes, do not defecate in the lake. That is disgusting and bad for the health of the lake and anyone who gets in that water.

I get it. But say that vs hoping bad on others. I don’t want #*#* floating in the lake either.

Do you really think musky nuts eat that much fiber though?

The best guys I've fished with learn more from not catching fish than they do from catching fish.

I really am a good fisherman then.

No, if I had to crap bad enough from the boat it’s probably going to be sauce.

Between where I live and my mom getting old I don't get much time on the water.
To get the most out of my time I fish with the high quality rods and reels and make my own leaders. Use lures that will hook and hold the largest fish. (changing hooks and spit rings) I don't have a boat right now so I rent something with a 24 or 36 volt system for the best boat control possible or go the other way and rent a boat with a good set of oars. Sneek into a good area using stealth. (oars ,wind ) Use good FUNdamentals (poor fundamentals and crappy gear will give you nightmares)

You're good if you apply what you learn from failure toward making changes for success. Sometimes the changes are incremental and sometimes the changes are drastic. Think about all the breakthru lures - Suicks, big rubber, glide baits, etc.... they were all created to fill a niche, a spot within which traditional baits didn't work. Shoot, think about the original Flatfish, a 4" wooden bait, small trebles attached with very light wire. One of the best big pike baits of all time.

Anyway, failure is great if you use it correctly.

You are a "good" musky fisherperson if you have the stamina to fish all day, adjust on the fly with the conditions on hand, have confidence in what you are doing is the correct approach, and have the awareness and precision to convert when a fish does appear, even if it is just one single chance all day. Musky fishing really is like hunting, and if you are "good" mature buck bowhunter you already know what is required physically and mentally to achieve success in musky fishing, because most of it is mental (confidence, patience and resilience) but there is also a component of accuracy and precision needed through practice and experience.
