How many muskies visited your ride in '21? Do you think '22 will be better?

Haven't fished much the past two years. Got out 3 times and put 6 Muskies in the boat, 4 by me. Caught two in three casts after giving the bait I caught the first fish on to another person in the boat. Blanked in a tournament where one fish was caught so 6 Muskies came in 2 trips.

13 in the boat. Lost half that number. Largest in the net was 44”. Good year with a couple multi-fish days.

3 - all around 40 - but went on a 10 year hiatus and just got back into the sport and still getting my bearings. Also, pressure is ridiculous down here.

1.... First time on a new lake last fall. 46" so at least it was a decent fish.

With Covid the past two summers, the lakes here are filled with boats, and since Canada has been closed up until last August, I just didn't have much desire to be out there pounding the water. The waters where I usually fish have been dead seas since about 2014 and am hoping the lakes are just on a down cycle that will start to improve here in the next few years. The best years I had there were lots of perch that would follow baits as well...not sure if that is tied to things as well...

We will see what 2022 brings. Wife is most likely going to have surgery early summer which means I will be tied up dramatically helping with her work, and She won't be able to take the pounding of waves in Canada, so I may be out yet another year from there....

32 hit the bag this year. By far my best year ever. Up to 48.25. Lost one that was maybe 50. Fished through June out of a 2015 impact then July through the rest of the year in a 2021 Lund Pro V Musky. It was a great year! Will 2022 be better that depends on if my wife kills me if I fish as much as I did this year.

I don't fish a bunch either but did get an important one last year and that was the first one for my lady. We had just been driven off the lake by a hail storm. We got back out there and the sun was now shining bright when I am asked if the fishing is good after a front goes through. "No" I say, "It is normally better before." About 5 minutes later a very a ticked off 40" male hits the net for her. Great day.

The tally was 9 on our annual family trip to WI, which allows 4 days of fishing time. The highlight for this year was that my son boated 4 of those. it was his first multi-fish trip and included his PB. He converted a few that weren’t aggressive at all, and landed everything he hooked. He’s definitely got the bug now, and is getting a good feel for it.
Really fun to see it come together for the next generation.

21 for me and missed 8. I fished less this year than last but caught more. Had better luck last year in new waters I fished but not too bad this year. Got my new PB at 46 3/4. Got a new (to me ) 1875 Crestliner Musky Fish Hark mid-season and caught 2x fish per hour than the older 16' fish hawk. No idea why.I thought it was an average season.

16 hit the bottom of the bag for me. Living in FL makes it tough, but my one week on LOTW helped. All solo fish this year with biggest being a 4 footer.

Also had hours way down, there were two weeks where I really went after skies..a week in June in the states and a week in Ontario in August...over those two weeks (13 days on the water) put 41 in the boat, caught some others but those two weeks made the year.

29 landed and a few to many lost trying to net solo. First year with side imaging paired with more time on the water produced a lot more fish. Biggest was a 48. Lots more metro fish this year too.. feels good when you may have to work a little bit harder for them. 22 will hopefully bring more and bigger fish!!

Went out Friday and spooked my only follow, so that wrapped up my 2021:
25 - days on water
23 - moved/saw
9 - in the net
10 - lost along the way
33+ - inch average
Still grateful for every glimpse. m

15 total for me in 2021. I know that I lost more than 15 in 2021. Was averaging about 35 during previous years, but Covid kicked my butt pretty good, and then I got hooked on video games. Plus, I almost had my catalytic converter cut off at one of my favorite fishing spots, so, that kinda ruined going to that spot. I have all kinds of dumb excuses...

I'm hoping that 2022 will be better.
Wishing everyone else a Happy New Year and great success this upcoming year!

Wow, that sucks losing the converter. One of my KY spots for a while had problems with folks losing tailgates from their pickups. tough world out there, '22 gotta be better.
I got a warning at one of my favorite ramps last month that a fellow had his lugs loosened on his trailer - all of them. Got me thinking abt how I drove home with no tailights from that same ramp a month previous and couldn't figure out how my ground wire 'broke' where it did. m

I ended up with 36 myself, with 4 over 50. I also put my brother on his only fish in the past couple years, a 53 incher! We fished our 1st pmtt and managed to boat 1 and had chances at a few more that we didn’t connect on. The late fall bite eluded me…not sure what happened there. I just didn’t get them to eat in late September through November. That was frustrating for sure. I can’t wait for open water!

Nice going JD and congrats to your wife as well on a great year!
Haven't been to the "P" in a while, my kids who are much older now but we still have some great memories of that lake. Good luck in 22. Did you get back to Canada last year?

Fished a bunch of different lakes in 21 and a few new ones including Nippising, I'd like to go back someday. Landed 82.

 Thanks JB. Nippising sounds adventurous!

2 trips to Canada…18 days….47 fish total both trips. Both Season and Fall Canada trip were cut short because of a medical procedure . My season ended 3 rd week of October;(
