Was going to do 3-4 hours this afternoon....meetings screwed that up, but going to hit the Chain for a 5-6 hours before the MoneyPit goes in for a little love at the marina.

Anybody else getting out?

My plan was to fish next Wednesday; would have been dad's 100th birthday.
Today, I found out I flunked a COVID test, which explains the symptoms since Monday.
I've had my shots, so I'm hoping my ten day Q time is uneventful, and I can get out Oct. 4 (Mom"s 102). m

Heading up to LOTW solo for a few days. I don't like the forecast at all with south winds and highs in the 70's but will give it the old college try.

Was out a number of times this past week on the chain where I live in Oneida County but this weekend is the Hodag Challenge and chain will be hopping with folks competing. 37 signed up for the chain as of Weds. Overall, looked like numbers were down for the Challenge this year, which surprised me given that some other tournaments were really busy, including a local club that filled a 50 boat field for the very first time.

Took my mom up in to the Rockies to see the Aspens turn it was ok, not the good place so maybe Monday I will take her there and later in the week go up to a lake with ultra light and some Mepps and catch some Trout and take Muskie rod and see if I can get a Tiger. I will be fishing from shore.

I fished Redstone for about the tenth time with zero to show again. We lucked out into a 36" a few years ago, but that has been our only recent muskie success in that filthy sewer. Ended up tossing muskie lures on beautiful clear Dutch Hollow Friday afternoon and Saturday and had fun with northerns and bass. Pitching white spinnerbaits on bass gear is my "White Flag" sign of giving up all hope.

I wish I was going to Big Creek I have not been there in a good 15 years, back in the day was a good place to go spend the night in Walden have a good breakfast and make to drive into Big Creek fish all day and back into Walden and get up and do it again, Caught fish in August went back and by labor day and the water was down in the mid 40's. Caught Lake Trout fishing for Muskies and dad lost a mid 40 inch fish (Tiger). Good times. This last Monday went up to Evergreen in the foothills walked some shoreline casting a small Marabou and a small Globe type lure nothing doing, made the lope on HWY 103 up by Echo Lake and down to Idaho Springs and back into town stopped for dinner and then home. The leaves were at there peak.

Hitting Vilas county next weekend. Hoping the pattern will be similar to the current one in the southern part of the state.
