Lets see in the last 2 weeks we have 5 Yankee baseball players with Covid whom were "vaccinated" 5 more from the Dem defectors in Texas and more than 100 in the New England area. Not against a vaccine at all just not this one with so many issues and questions about them. Also a vaccine is a variant of the virus that it is meant to fight against. These "vaccines" are synthetic. They were never tested on anyone under the age of 21 or over the age of 55. Not tested on anyone with any type of medical condition what so ever. I will take the 99.8% chance that I can b

eat it rather than take a % I have zero idea what the short or long term effects will be. Not even 6 months into it we are already seeing many, many issues.

Fully aware there 8. As I have consulted with my physician instead of just running like a lemming. My wife who has an auto-immune disease will not get the shot as her neurologist after much research and study has determined that risk is not worth the reward. Her research clearly shows whom was tested and what age and demographics there were in the testing prior to rolling out the "Vaccine".

Now she did not and nor I am saying that it isn't safe or reliable but the testing was so limited and so short (3 months) that nobody knows what the long term affects may or may not be. Case in point enlarged hearts in males 30 and younger. All information that the Israel and Germany had of these affects for months prior to the US saying it was ok for this age group to get vaccinated. Follow the science right???

OK, vaccinated US residents can cross Canadian border Aug 9th. However, I can't find any info about US decision to reopen. Would not like to cross over only to be denied re-entry, eh? .

Oh....., yeah. There is that. Although I guess if I am going to get stuck in another country, Canada is the one I would want.

Story I read said that in addition to providing proof of vaccination, you must use the ArriveCAN app prior to your crossing. Does not sound like it is complicated, just something that needs to be done.
Surprising U.S. has not reciprocated yet. Canada is well ahead of U.S.A. in vaccination rates.

I didn't realize that. They must have solved their supply issues. I know early on, they were clamoring to acquire vaccines.

It surprised me too but Wall Street Journal said at least 70% of adult Canadians have had at least one shot, which the WSJ described as one of the highest rates in the world.
The USA has not had a supply problem for a couple months, rather people are just choosing not to get vaccinated. Maybe we shipped our surplus north? Hope everything gets better and all the folks that want to fish Canada get the chance. Wonder how many of the lodges made it?

Summary from the Toronto Star:
"No partially vaccinated people without quarantine. Everyone will still have to have a negative COVID-19 test before arrival. Proof of vaccination will have to be uploaded to the ArriveCAN app or website. Only vaccinations approved by Canada will be acceptable. Some travellers will still face random testing upon arrival so public health officials can track variants of concern. And just in case, you’d better have a full-fledged quarantine plan in hand if the border guards ask for it."

Info I saw on ArriveCan is dated July 5th, much of which no longer applies. Aside from proof of vaccination what else is required? Unless this app is updated to reflect the August 9th re-opening I have no clue. Do we show our proof (shot card) to a customs agent at the border along with our passport or what?

Want to cross the border now? Apparently you can get a Canadian girlfriend who has a lodge in the family and head right over. Give me a break. Not a good look. Lots of heads turning on that one.

So..... you can go to Canada after the 9th, but can't return until the 22nd (maybe?)? Does the travel ban extension affect Americans returning home? Asking for a friend...

So the US has decided to extend the closure of the Canadian and Mexico borders thru Aug 21st. But they allow a couple hundred thousand thru the Mexico border all year. What sense does this make?

That's what it looks like. Flying you have some other options (3 day rapid test before going back). Winnipeg is now an entry point, so one option.

Hopefully we get some more rain up here (had a tiny bit recently), as it is a smoky forest fire and severe fire danger mess in Eastern Manitoba into NW Ont /LOTW region right now.

heard on radio this morning that the requirement for a 15 day stay as yet hasn't changed. This was initially because of the 14 day quarantine but would still require change.
also heard that the border guards 3 years without a contract are taking a strike vote and while some will be deemed essential it will make for huge backups ( the ones working likely in bad mood)

Well, every year there are thousands of temp visas granted for agricultural workers. We wouldn't have any produce in our grocery stores without them. Me, I like to eat.
Noah's Ark, the largest water park in the world in Wis. Dells had trouble getting enough foreign workers this year so they close every Wednesday.

I am lucky to be able to cross back and forth and they way things have been going since March will be interesting, every time a change happens not all things are considered or operate very smooth. Will be interesting to see what comes of all this Aug. 9th. One would think that as much time as both countries have been closed to each other they would have a plan in place to make things easy.

Seems like you have to upload docs into arriveCan app. I haven't seen anything about having to spend 15 days minimum. We're crossing on the 9th. Fingers crossed

As of today, it looks as if one can not enter Canada by water so even if one gets to The Angle, they will not be able to fish Canadian waters.
